The Queen and the Golden Ox
In a kingdom where the earth glowed gold beneath the African sun, there lived a wise queen who travelled not by horse, but upon a magnificent ox named Mosi.
Guided by a sacred bird that soared above her, she journeyed across her land, listening to her people and bringing hope wherever she went. The ox symbolised strength, the bird wisdom, and the queen the spirit of leadership and unity.
Over time, her story became legend, woven into tapestries that celebrated a ruler who led with courage, compassion, and a deep connection to the land she called home.
Cape Town: A City Woven Between Mountain and Sea
This tapestry tells the story of Cape Town, where the ocean meets the foot of Table Mountain and Lion's Head watches over the city below. From the bustling harbour and historic City Hall to the leafy paths of the Company's Garden, each thread captures a piece of the city's rich character.
The vibrant colours of the Bo-Kaap celebrate Cape Town's diverse cultural heritage, while Parliament stands as a reminder of the nation's journey through history. Together, mountain, sea, and city create a landscape that is both iconic and deeply connected.
A woven tribute to Cape Town and its beauty, its stories, and its enduring spirit.
Watishi Queen
The Watishi Queen stands with quiet strength adorned with the symbols of her people and wrapped in garments of ceremony, she embodies the wisdom, courage, and resilience passed down through generations of African women.
She is both warrior and guardian, a leader who carries the stories of her ancestors while guiding her people toward the future. The vibrant colours woven throughout the tapestry reflect the richness of African culture, while her calm expression speaks of dignity, grace, and unwavering determination.
This tapestry is a celebration of feminine power, heritage, and the enduring spirit of Africa's queens.
The Three Wise Men of the Baobab Valley
In a valley where the earth glowed red beneath the African sun, there lived three wise men whose counsel was sought by kings, farmers, and travellers alike.
The first carried the wisdom of the past, remembering the stories of the ancestors and the lessons they left behind.
The second understood the present, teaching people to live with gratitude, courage, and respect for one another.
The third looked toward the future, helping his people prepare for the seasons yet to come.
Though each possessed a different gift, they walked together, believing that true wisdom could only be found when past, present, and future were held in balance.
The African Garden of Eden
Long before fences divided the land and roads crossed the wilderness, there was a place known only as The African Garden of Eden.
At its heart lay a sacred watering hole where buffalo, antelope, cranes, and countless birds gathered in perfect harmony. Beneath ancient trees, life flourished untouched, nourished by crystal waters that flowed through the savannah like silver ribbons.
The elders believed the watering hole was a gift from the Creator and a place where every creature had a purpose and every season brought renewal. Here, the mighty buffalo stood beside the graceful antelope, and the songs of birds filled the air from dawn until dusk.
Though generations have passed, the spirit of this Eden remains. It lives in every river, every tree, and every gathering of wildlife across Africa, a timeless reminder of a world where nature existed in perfect balance, abundance, and peace.
The Tree of Many Windows
In a village unlike any other, the houses did not stand apart from nature, they grew from it.
At the centre of the village stood the Tree of Many Windows, a towering guardian whose branches wove through colourful homes and winding pathways. Its leaves changed colour with every season, painting the village in shades of gold, green, and copper.
The villagers believed the tree carried the dreams of the people. Each morning, a white bird would fly from its branches, carrying hopes, wishes, and stories to the world beyond the hills.
The homes, with their uneven windows and playful shapes, were built to follow the curves of nature rather than the rules of man. No two were alike, yet together they formed a living tapestry of harmony and creativity.
As the years passed, the Tree of Many Windows became a symbol of a simple truth - when people build with imagination, respect the natural world, and celebrate their differences, communities flourish.
The Guitar Maidens
In a world of shifting shapes and warm, glowing colour, two maidens sit beside a guitar, lost in music and conversation. Inspired by Picasso's vision, they exist between reality and imagination where faces become stories and simple forms hold deeper meaning.
The guitar, resting quietly at their side, becomes a symbol of creativity, connection, and the timeless language of art. Bathed in hues of gold, amber, and fire, the scene hums with the energy of a fleeting moment suspended in time.
This tapestry reimagines a celebrated masterpiece through the ancient craft of weaving, transforming painted brushstrokes into textured threads. It is a tribute to artistic expression, where music, form, and imagination intertwine.
