Exhibition by Uluka
ULUKA creates handwoven cotton tapestries in Cape Town, South Africa, available for purchase and shipping worldwide.
ULUKA is a tactile dialogue between tradition and the modern home. Tapestry weaving is an ancient art form with a rich history, yet it is rarely encountered today, making each piece a truly unique and meaningful work of art.
The name ULUKA means "to weave" in isiXhosa. Many of the women who weave ULUKA tapestries are Xhosa artisans, and we are proud to create meaningful employment opportunities while helping to preserve and celebrate this age-old craft. Weaving traditions run deep within the community, and through ULUKA, we are honoured to contribute to keeping this cultural heritage alive for future generations.
